Huntington Center used to be known as Formerly Lucas County Arena. The arenas aim is to become the first LEED sports arena around the country. For the aim of shading the glass in the arenas entrance, outside the building is planted with a 900-square-foot green space. The arenas building is special and it contains underground cisterns to gather rain water for the aim of using it in landscaping purposes. It is also equipped with light-colored roof that reflects sunlight.
Huntington Center is a part of a large complex consisted of other sections including Fifth Third Field, and SeaGate Convention Centre. The first performance in the arena was a concert by the legendary comedian Jeff Dunham. And later several other artists and entertainers have performed in the arena such as Carrie Underwood, Elton John, Jason Aldean, Kid Rock, Rascal Flatts and a lot more.
Among the main other events that was held in the arena are World Wrestling Entertainment. The naming rights of the venue that used to be called Lucas County Arena were bought by the Huntington Bancshares Incorporated in 2010, so it got its current name. The 6 year deal reached includes sponsorship and naming rights and it cost .1 million. And it also includes the condition of 3 renewals of six years each.
